Storm King and Ft Tryon Medieval Festival

Had a very good summer, the weather was not too hot, and there was much going and September was especially fun.

I visited Storm King Art Center the size and expanse of the grounds is incredible, wear your best walking shoes, or ride the trolley, it is definitely worth visiting.  I expected to see Giants come stomping out of the forest or Jacks bean stalk climbing to the clouds.

Ft Tryon Medieval Festival

I had the pleasure of serving as a volunteer at the annual Ft Tryon Medieval Festival in the costume tent, it was fun helping the vendors choose their costumes, and learned how to make a simple medieval headbands, using ribbon.  The USA Knights armored combat put on a good show, the sword fights were convincingly real.

To top off my day I had the opportunity of visiting the Cloisters again located at Ft Tryon Park.  The tranquility is nice, even with the crowds that were milling about you still get a sense of peace.

Adventures First Half of 2017

Early March 2017

My love for travel, history and exploring started with books, my natural curiosity did the rest.

NYC tour

Empire state building.

The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum

When in NYC shopping is not far from my mind, so I visited LV and got myself a present.

Later in March my BFF and I dance to Uncle Charlie in concert.

Early July 2017

Off to the races I went on a tour of Belmont Park Race Track, the place is huge and makes me wonder what it is like when they have the Belmont Stakes. There were plenty of people having picnics at the park, others there for the races.
