I completed my first lace project by knitting the Lacy Keyhole scarf, with Stephanie Japel on Craftsy
Knit Lab. I had bought this class plus another class by Stephanie the Circular Knit Lab: Hats Four Ways way back in Dec 2012, to give me some motivation to keep knitting.
Not only am I happy I completed a cute lacy scarf, but I learned some techniques on finishing my garment. Techniques like seaming, weaving in the ends on a garter stitch or stockinette item and weaving in on the bind off edge, blocking and shaping.
I have to admit I have yet to block any knitting projects I did prior :-), I tip toe around learning how, but now I know how to use my steam iron to block and shape.
The most special experience was learning to lace, which I may never have attempted because it seems so daunting. This project was small enough for me to see a quick reward and I am now looking for more lace projects huh huh that is how it starts.
