First Garden Vegetables

I have grown flowering plant and shrubs and the last two year a hot scotch bonnet pepper plant.  This year I decided to try and expand to include Tomatoes, Bell Peppers, Cucumber and some mint if all else fail.

The tomatoes all did very well only a bit of drainage problem, I grew the tomatoes in plastic buckets, the instruction included pebbles at the bottom to help with drainage, I skipped that step :-) but next year I will definitely include.

The bell peppers did not do so good in the wooden half barrel so I transplant in garden and they love it, so no more buckets for peppers.

I lost the cucumber plant from the start, even after getting my honey to build me an impressive trellis, but I have not given up, I have seen on the Internet that you can grow cucumber in those garden plastic planters, so I will be trying it again next season.

This entire summer season I did not purchase tomatoes that was a liberating feeling, it is very nice indeed to grow produce for the table.

Jewelry Making

I have always been interested in Jewelry making, so when Diane Rupp's make workshop had a discount on earring making classes on 6/30 I jumped at the chance.

I learnt about the different parts and tool use in creating an earring, and instructor Emilie Sharpiro taught us how to make two earrings during the 2 hours session.  It was quite a liberating experience to be able to create your own jewelry.
